Fundermemtals
Before we began any serious projects within my photography course we had to learn some of the fundamentals of photography and post production. The body of work we aimed to generate was to be inclusive of; effects of aperture, shutter speed and ISO, depth of field, the rule of thirds, composition, etc. and how these elements have on an image. The following body of work was the best images out of the bunch.
With regards to post production, I kept it simple I only wanted to generate or exemplify focus on parts of the image, hence using masking layers to highlight single colours in otherwise a black and white image. For my other images, they feature touch ups in the form of adjustments or the addition of a black and white filter.

Montages
This project began with a trip to our local sea side town of Southend were we took photos around the Victoria train station, close to Prittlewell station, and near the library. After concluding our shoot, we began editing our photos and then merge them in creative ways, prior to which we had conducted research into ‘photomontage’ artists. My research was around the works of Paul Citroen & Peter Kenard
My work airs these inspiration, Citroen’s organised chaos alongside his use of architecture and mellow pigments was hugely inspirational in terms of content. Kenard’s research and inspiration shouldn’t be dismissed either, I took fancy to his political ideology and background for his work and decided I wanted to implement that in some way in my work, So I used the CCTV cameras to highlight the idea of always been watched and the surveillance on society.
